Overview
Indian Institute of Information Technology Dharwad (IIIT Dharwad) was set up in 2015 under the public-private partnership model, with the central government, the Karnataka government and industry partners as stakeholders. It is based in Dharwad, part of the Hubballi–Dharwad twin cities in north Karnataka.
IIIT Dharwad is an Institute of National Importance under the IIIT (PPP) Act. B.Tech programmes are in computer science, data science and artificial intelligence, and electronics and communication engineering. Hostel arrangements are made for undergraduate students.
B.Tech seats are filled on JEE Main ranks through JoSAA counselling, with no home-state quota. It is a separate institute from IIT Dharwad, which admits through JEE Advanced. Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics (plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or a technical vocational subject) meeting the JoSAA 75% (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or top-20-percentile criterion, and a valid JEE Main rank.

B.Tech seats are allotted through JoSAA counselling (and CSAB special rounds for vacant seats) on the all-India JEE Main rank; IIITs have no home-state quota.
