Overview

Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) started in 1998 as the Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology and was upgraded in 2013 into a technical university for women. Its campus is at Kashmere Gate in North Delhi, near the historic St. James’ Church and a short walk from the Kashmere Gate interchange, and all of its programmes admit women students only.

IGDTUW is a State university (degree-awarding) of the Delhi Government and is placed in the 201–300 band of the NIRF 2025 Engineering ranking. B.Tech branches include Computer Science & Engineering (also with AI), Electronics & Communication (also with AI), Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Mathematics & Computing, and Mechanical & Automation Engineering. It also offers B.Arch, M.Tech, M.Plan, MBA and PhD programmes, and has on-campus hostels.

B.Tech admission is through JEE Main, with seats allotted in JAC Delhi counselling alongside DTU, NSUT and IIIT-Delhi. Because IGDTUW seats are open only to women, female candidates should add its branches thoughtfully to their JAC Delhi choice list. Eligibility

Women candidates who passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (or an allowed optional subject) meeting JAC Delhi's minimum marks, with a valid JEE Main rank.
