Overview
East Point College of Engineering and Technology (EPCET) was established in 1999 and is run by the M. G. Charitable Trust as part of the East Point group of institutions. It is on the Jnana Prabha campus at Avalahalli, Virgonagar Post, in east Bangalore, off Old Madras Road towards K.R. Puram. The college shares its campus with other institutions of the East Point group.
EPCET is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, approved by AICTE and accredited by NBA. B.E. branches include Computer Science & Engineering, CSE (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning), CSE (IoT and Cyber Security including Blockchain), Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Information Science, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical and Civil Engineering. Separate hostels for boys and girls on the East Point campus make it practical for students from outside Bangalore.
Admission is through KCET and COMEDK UGET, plus management quota. The newer CSE specialisations give more choice for computing aspirants across rounds. Eligibility
Passed 2nd PUC / Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics and English plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or Electronics, with at least 45% in the qualifying subjects (40% for eligible reserved categories), and a valid KCET or COMEDK UGET rank as applicable.
Admission process
Government-quota seats are allotted through KCET counselling (KEA) and COMEDK-quota seats through COMEDK counselling. Management-quota seats are handled by the college.
