Overview

Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT) was established in 1956 by the Coimbatore Institute of Technology Educational Trust and is one of Tamil Nadu’s oldest private engineering colleges, run on a fully grant-in-aid basis by the state government since its founding. The college’s long history has made it one of the more recognisable engineering institutions in the Coimbatore region.

The institute is affiliated with Anna University and approved by AICTE, offering B.E. programmes in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Production and Aeronautical Engineering. CIT holds NAAC A+ accreditation and NBA accreditation for multiple branches, and its grant-in-aid status keeps fees notably lower than fully private engineering colleges in the region.
