Overview
Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (BIT Mesra) was established in 1955 by the Birla Education Trust and is one of India’s oldest private engineering institutions, later attaining Deemed-to-be-University status in 1986. Located on a sprawling green campus on the outskirts of Ranchi, Jharkhand, BIT Mesra has grown into a multi-campus university with additional centres in Jaipur, Noida, Lalpur, Deoghar and Patna, alongside its main Ranchi campus which hosts the majority of its engineering, management, pharmacy and applied sciences programmes.
The institute is UGC-recognised and AICTE-approved, offering B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, Pharmacy and doctoral programmes across departments including Computer Science, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering.
