Vignan’s Foundation for Science, Technology and Research, Guntur

Overview

Vignan’s Foundation for Science, Technology and Research was established as an engineering college in 1997 and later granted Deemed-to-be-University status in 2008, based near Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. The university is part of the wider Vignan Group of institutions, which also runs several other engineering and pharmacy colleges across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The university is UGC-recognised and its engineering programmes are AICTE-approved, offering B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Civil and Biotechnology Engineering. Vignan has built research centres and industry partnerships since attaining university status and holds NBA accreditation for several of its longer-running branches.

Admission to B.Tech programmes is through JEE Main scores or Andhra Pradesh’s EAMCET/EAPCET process, followed by university counselling. The campus offers hostel accommodation, modern laboratories and a placement cell that has built recruiter relationships across IT services and core engineering sectors, drawing largely on Andhra Pradesh and Telangana’s regional job market.
