Overview

Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation (KL University or KLEF) was established as an engineering college in 1980 and later granted Deemed-to-be-University status in 2009, based in Vaddeswaram in the Vijayawada-Guntur region of Andhra Pradesh. The university has grown rapidly into one of the larger private technical universities in South India, with a second campus in Hyderabad.

The university is UGC-recognised and its engineering programmes are AICTE-approved, offering B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Civil and Biotechnology Engineering, along with newer specializations in AI, Data Science and Cybersecurity. KL University has featured in NIRF rankings in recent years and has invested heavily in research infrastructure and international collaborations as part of its growth strategy.

Admission to B.Tech programmes is through JEE Main scores or the university’s own entrance test (KLEEE), followed by counselling.
