Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat was established in 2002 by the Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan as a private university dedicated primarily to engineering and information technology education. Situated in Solan district, Himachal Pradesh, on a hillside campus near Shimla, JUIT was set up with a specific focus on IT, electronics and biotechnology disciplines.
