Indian Institute of Information Technology Tiruchirappalli (IIIT Trichy) was set up in 2013 under the public-private partnership model, with the central government, the Tamil Nadu government and industry partners as stakeholders. It is mentored by NIT Trichy and is based in Tiruchirappalli, a well-connected city in central Tamil Nadu.

IIIT Tiruchirappalli is an Institute of National Importance under the IIIT (PPP) Act. B.Tech programmes are in computer science and electronics and communication engineering, taught in small batches. Hostel arrangements are made for undergraduate students.

Eligibility

Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics (plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or a technical vocational subject) meeting the JoSAA 75% (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or top-20-percentile criterion, and a valid JEE Main rank.

B.Tech seats are allotted through JoSAA counselling (and CSAB special rounds for vacant seats) on the all-India JEE Main rank; IIITs have no home-state quota.
