Overview
National Institute of Technology Calicut (NIT Calicut) was established in 1961 as the Regional Engineering College, Calicut, the first such college in Kerala, and became an NIT in 2002. The campus is at Chathamangalam, about 22 km north-east of Kozhikode city, in the green midland hills of north Kerala.
NIT Calicut is an Institute of National Importance placed at NIRF 2025 Engineering rank 21. B.Tech programmes include computer science, electronics and communication, electrical and electronics, mechanical, production, chemical, civil, biotechnology, engineering physics and materials science, and it also offers B.Arch. Hostels are provided for undergraduate students.

Eligibility
Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics (plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or a technical vocational subject) meeting the JoSAA 75% (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or top-20-percentile criterion, and a valid JEE Main rank.
Admission process
B.Tech seats are allotted through JoSAA counselling (and CSAB special rounds for vacant seats) on the JEE Main rank, with 50% Home State (Kerala) and 50% Other State quotas. B.Arch uses the JEE Main architecture paper.
