Overview

Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET) was founded in 1980 and occupies the Mount Pleasant campus on Road No. 3, Banjara Hills, in west-central Hyderabad. It is one of the older private engineering colleges in the city, and its central location makes it easy to reach by bus and road from most parts of Hyderabad, so nearly all students attend as day scholars.

MJCET is a private Muslim minority college affiliated to Osmania University, with UGC autonomous status from 2025–26 to 2034–35. NAAC accredited it with an A+ grade in 2024, and its Civil, CSE, ECE and Mechanical programmes hold NBA accreditation. It awards the B.E. degree in CSE, CSE (AI & ML), CSE (AI & DS), CSE (AI), IT, ECE, Electrical, Civil and Mechanical Engineering. M.E./M.Tech and Ph.D. programmes are also offered.

Admission to B.E. is through TG EAPCET: about 70% of seats (Category-A) are allotted in TG EAPCET convenor counselling and, as a minority institution, these are reserved for Muslim minority candidates; the remaining 30% are Category-B (management) seats filled by the college. Intermediate / Class 12 with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (50% aggregate for general, 45% for reserved categories) and a TG EAPCET rank; Category-A seats are reserved for Muslim minority candidates.
