AP EAPCET

Overview

The Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test, or AP EAPCET, is held once a year by a state university on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE); JNTU Kakinada conducted the 2026 edition. It was earlier called AP EAMCET, and “Medical” gave way to “Pharmacy” in the name once medical admissions moved to NEET. The test is an online, computer-based exam held in two shifts a day over several days in May, with separate sessions for the engineering (MPC) stream and the agriculture and pharmacy stream. There is no negative marking.

What AP EAPCET is used for

• Engineering and technology: B.E./B.Tech convener-quota seats at university colleges and at government and private engineering colleges across Andhra Pradesh.
• Pharmacy and allied courses: B.Pharm and Pharm.D, plus agriculture, horticulture and related courses through the agriculture and pharmacy stream.
• Rank with Intermediate weightage: the AP EAPCET rank combines 75% of your normalised test score with 25% of your Intermediate group-subject marks, so board marks count.
• Local candidates: 85% of convener seats are reserved for local candidates of Andhra Pradesh; the rest are unreserved seats with their own eligibility conditions.

Counselling and seat allotment

Engineering seats are allotted through AP EAPCET counselling, conducted online by the Department of Technical Education, Andhra Pradesh, usually in two or more phases. Candidates register and pay the processing fee, get their certificates verified (online, or at a helpline centre if needed), exercise web options for colleges and branches, and receive a provisional seat allotment. Allotted candidates then self-report online and report to the college with original documents. Keep your AP EAPCET rank card, SSC and Intermediate marks memos, study certificates, transfer certificate and, if applicable, caste, EWS, income and residence certificates ready.

Important dates

APSCHE has not yet announced AP EAPCET 2027 dates, and no 2027 notification was available as of 25 September 2026. For reference, in the 2026 cycle applications opened on 4 February 2026 (last date without late fee extended to 17 March), the engineering stream was held on 12–15 and 18 May and the agriculture and pharmacy stream on 19–20 May, and results were declared on 1 July 2026 (Careers360, Testbook, The Hans India).

Eligibility

Passed or appearing in Intermediate (Class 12) or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects. For admission you need at least 45% in these group subjects (40% for reserved categories). You must be at least 16 years old as on 31 December of the admission year; there is no upper age limit for engineering.

85% of convener seats are reserved for local candidates of Andhra Pradesh, decided by the study and residence rules in the notification. The remaining unreserved seats have separate conditions for non-local candidates, and students who studied outside the state (including in Telangana) may be treated as non-local. Syllabus

Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from the Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education first- and second-year syllabus. Based on the 2026 exam, the engineering paper has 160 multiple-choice questions of 1 mark each (160 marks in total) in 3 hours, with no negative marking. Ranks use 75% of the normalised AP EAPCET score and 25% of Intermediate group-subject marks.
