Overview

The Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) of Jamia Millia Islamia was established in 1985, building on civil engineering teaching that began at Jamia in 1979. It is located on the university’s main campus at Jamia Nagar in South-East Delhi, near Okhla, and today has more than 2,000 students across its engineering departments, making it one of the capital’s long-standing public engineering faculties.

Jamia Millia Islamia is a Central university accredited NAAC A++, and it is ranked No. 24 in the NIRF 2025 Engineering ranking. FET offers B.Tech in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication and Computer Engineering, plus newer self-financed B.Tech programmes in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Electronics (VLSI Design & Technology) and Computer Science & Engineering (Data Sciences). M.Tech and PhD programmes are also offered.

B.Tech admission is based on the JEE Main rank through JMI’s own admission and counselling process, not JoSAA or JAC Delhi. Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with at least 55% aggregate, and a JEE Main (Paper 1) rank for the admission year.
