Overview

Vidyashilp University was established in 2021 as a private university under a Karnataka State Act. Its campus is at Bettenahalli on Chapparkallu Road in Kundana hobli, on the northern outskirts of Bangalore. The university is one of the city’s newer private universities and teaches across technology, law, design, liberal arts and business, so engineering students study alongside peers from several other disciplines on a single campus.

Vidyashilp University awards its own degrees and is not affiliated to VTU. Its engineering offering is a four-year B.Tech (Hons) in Computer Science & Engineering, with a choice of specialisation in Data Science or in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning. Alongside B.Tech, the university runs undergraduate programmes in law, design, liberal arts and business. It offers merit-based, need-based and talent-based scholarships on its own criteria, and diploma holders can also apply for the B.Tech programme.

Admission is based on scores from KCET, JEE Main, COMEDK UGET, CUET or other state entrance tests, followed by the university’s own selection steps: an online application, a one-on-one session with programme heads, an interaction with academic deans and a personal interview.
