Overview

GITAM (Deemed to be University) opened its Bengaluru campus in 2012 on NH 207 at Nagadenehalli in Doddaballapura taluk, north of the city and close to Kempegowda International Airport. GITAM itself was founded in 1980 in Visakhapatnam and also has a campus in Hyderabad. On the 45-acre Bengaluru campus, engineering is taught through the School of Computer Science and Engineering and the School of Core Engineering (commonly listed as GITAM School of Technology, Bengaluru), alongside business, science and humanities schools.

GITAM is a deemed-to-be university that awards its own degrees and is not affiliated to VTU; it holds an A++ grade from NAAC, and the Bengaluru campus is registered with AICTE. B.Tech options include Computer Science & Engineering with specialisations in AI & ML, Data Science, Cyber Security and IoT, as well as Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Electrical & Computer, Mechanical and Civil Engineering. The campus also offers M.Tech and MBA programmes and has separate hostels for boys and girls.

Admission is mainly through GITAM’s own GAT (GITAM Admission Test), and the university also considers JEE Main and SAT scores; the Bengaluru campus additionally admits through COMEDK UGET. Applicants need Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Class 12 with the minimum aggregate set by GITAM. Eligibility

Passed Class 12 / 2nd PUC with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and the minimum aggregate set by GITAM (about 50–60% depending on route), plus a GAT, JEE Main, SAT or COMEDK UGET result.

Admission process

Apply on GITAM's admissions portal and take GAT (or apply with JEE Main or SAT scores); the Bengaluru campus also receives COMEDK UGET allotments. Seats are allotted in GITAM's counselling.
