Overview

Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS), established in 1955 in Ranchi, Jharkhand, by the Jesuit order, is one of India’s oldest institutes combining social work education with rural and human resource management, historically focused on tribal and rural development in the Chotanagpur plateau region.

XISS offers AICTE-approved postgraduate diploma programs in rural management and human resource management, alongside a long-standing social work department, with fieldwork embedded in tribal and rural communities across Jharkhand.

Admission to management diploma programs is through national entrance tests such as CAT/XAT or the institute’s own test, followed by group discussion and interview. Sign up free to see fees by quota, closing ranks and placement data.
