<p>Nalanda Open University (NOU) was established in 1987 at Patna as Bihar’s state open university, named after the ancient Nalanda seat of learning, to extend higher education to students across the state through distance mode.</p><p>NOU is a State Open University recognized by the UGC’s Distance Education Bureau (UGC-DEB).
