National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune

Overview

The National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune was established in 1954 as the world’s first tri-service academy, training cadets for the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force together before they proceed to their respective service-specific academies for pre-commission training.

NDA functions under the Ministry of Defence and its academic wing is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), which awards the B.Sc, B.Sc (Computer Science) or B.A. degree to graduating cadets. The three-year training combines rigorous academics with military and physical training across all three service wings on a shared campus.

Admission is through the UPSC-conducted NDA & NA Examination (for unmarried male and female candidates who have passed Class 12), followed by an SSB interview and medical examination. Sign up free to see fees by quota, closing ranks and placement data.
