National Institute of Siddha, Chennai

Overview

The National Institute of Siddha, Chennai was established in 2005 by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, as the apex institution dedicated to the Siddha system of medicine — one of the oldest traditional medicine systems practised chiefly in Tamil Nadu and southern India.

The institute is an autonomous body under the Ministry of AYUSH, and its BSMS and postgraduate programmes are recognized by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM). It operates an attached Siddha hospital with inpatient and outpatient facilities, along with dedicated research and drug standardization laboratories in coordination with the Central Council for Research in Siddha (CCRS).

Admission to the BSMS programme is through NEET-UG followed by the Ministry of AYUSH’s central counselling process, while postgraduate admission is through AIAPGET. Sign up free to see fees by quota, closing ranks and placement data.
